Yahoo Answers

Google might not tell you they love Yahoo but they sure seem
to love

Yahoo Answers
.  This is a very quick and easy way of getting links to your
site and traffic.

Register at Yahoo, go to

Yahoo Answers
.  Where it says Search for Questions click on Advanced.  Where
it says Keywords type in some keywords related to your site.  Click on Open
Questions – Best answer has not been chosen, then Search.  This will give you
all questions that might be related to your site.

It’s not really necessary that your post has something to do
with your site but might as well keep it as close as possible if you want to
gain traffic out of it.  Look for some questions you can answer.  Answer the
questions, include a link to your site in your answer and/or include a link to
your site where it says Source.

That’s it.  It’s very quick and easy to get links from Yahoo.
Google scours Yahoo Answers all day don’t be surprised if your link shows up in
google within a few hours.

As promised all techniques that guarantee results.  If you
follow these techniques you are guaranteed to be in google within one week of
starting.  Not only that but you will have thousands of links to your site and
can be #1 for many terms.

Like anything search engine related just repeat and keep doing
the same thing.  The more you do it the more one way links you’ll have to your
site.  It’s not unrealistic to have a few thousand links going to your site
within a few days by following all of these techniques.

Remember you post a link on a blog, it’s pinged, the search
sites grab the pings but other sites use their feeds.  People grab feeds of
feeds and if your link is on there it’s included.  The same goes for social
bookmarking links, videos and Yahoo Answers.  People re-use other people’s
content all of the time and your link on these pages will be an added benefit to
you.  This is the true meaning of viral.  Your link keeps spreading.

I guess it’s time to
wrap this up.  Good luck with your endeavors.  I’ll see you at the top of the
search engines.  Make a lot of money and of course don’t forget me when you’re
at the top.

And this little tutorial is done.  Stay tuned for much, much more.  We’re only at the tip of the iceberg.  I have plenty of things up my sleeve.  Of course we’re doing a minimum one post a day so tomorrow will be something new.

Uploading Videos

This information is usually saved for more
expensive ebooks but it’s truly a great way to get into the search engines and
drive massive waves of traffic to your site.

Youtube,  Google , AOL, Yahoo, MSN, Myspace, are all very high
traffic sites and they all have something in common.  They all allow you to
upload videos.  You can now harness their traffic and of course get free links
to your site.  All you have to do is upload videos to these sites as well as
several others out there.

There are several ways to do this.

1.
Create your own
videos.  Add your link inside the video and add it to your description.  Make
sure in your description you add it with the http:// .

2.
Use other people’s
videos.  This is the fastest and easiest way.  Warning: Be careful of
copyright videos.  If you use copyrighted videos your account can be banned at
the video sites.

To get the videos download the

Video DownloadHelper
.  It’s a Firefox extension so you need

Firefox
to use this.  Both of these things are completely free.

Once you have the videos it’s time
to watermark them or add your own beginning and ending.  You can use

Windows Movie Maker
which is usually located under Accessories in most
Windows installations if you don’t have it download it, free of course.  I also
recommend although not necessary

Video Watermark Factory
because you can bulk watermark videos with this
program.  My main suggestion is include your link and maybe a message at the
beginning and end of each video.

Time to upload.
There are literally dozens of video sites out there.  Your goal is to get your
video on as many sites as you can.  These are all sources of traffic and
backlinks.

Here’s a small list of sites you can
upload your videos to:

YouTube

MySpace Videos

Yahoo Video

MetaCafe

Grouper

DailyMotion

CNN

ABC

Blip.tv

Vimeo

Veoh

VideoEgg

Revver

Google

Brightcove

These are not all of the sites out
there but you get the idea.  There are many and the more sites your link is on
the better.  This is a big traffic/link resource.  Register at all of these
sites and look for others and also register at them.

I use

Video Post Robot
to speed up the process.  It uploads to 30 different video
sites all from one program.  The only downside is it’s not free although it does
have a $1 trial period.  I suggest going to the site though because there are
other video sites listed there that are not on my list where you can also add
your videos.

New edit: I still recommend Video Post Robot because it’s affordable and still works well. The only thing is the development isn’t what it use to be. They were updating monthly before and they haven’t updated in a few months now. An even more shocking note I’m actually writing this edit on 1/10/09 and the rest of the post was written earlier this week…anyway they let their domain expire. I guess it’s time to email them and tell them to renew it. At least the program is still working for me.

Edit 1/13/09:  They renewed the domain and told me two days ago they were planning a new update.  The site is back up.

We’re almost done.  Part 4 will be here tomorrow.

Continuing on…  The ebook of course is in a huge font so at least you can differentiate it from the new stuff I write.

Speed up the sign up and login process

This part is just a little bonus since it’s
not really part of the techniques but it’s saved me countless hours.  You can
use a program like

Roboform
to speed up the repetitious process of adding your name, link and
password.  That is a link to the demo version in case you’re wondering.  For
complete details before downloading you can go to

their website
and see all of the features.  There are other programs that do
this but this is by far my favorite.  This will save you time on all the other
techniques also.  It’s great for logging in on all of your favorite sites and
for filling in forms automatically.

Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking is big and very popular.
If you want the details about this there are another million ebooks on this.  We
just want to get into the search engines and some traffic as a bonus.

Go to

Only Wire
create an account if you don’t have one already.  Once in you will
see a list of several social bookmarking sites.  Go to each one and sign up.
Add your logins into

Only Wire
and start bookmarking.  This is one of the fastest, easiest and of
course free ways to get your site into the major social bookmarking sites and of
course the search engines.

New edit: Only Wire actually sucks now.  They are doing free trials with a catch.  I no longer recommend them.  Try something like Social Poster , they bookmark way more sites and it’s completely free and has no strings attached.  And Social Poster isn’t the only game in town there are other sites and even better programs that do this much more efficiently, but Only Wire officially sucks right now in my opinion.

A good program that I’ve been using recently is Social Bot .  Don’t tell anyone but you can buy this kick ass program for $7 with the coupon code AMSTEL for a limited time.  This thing submits to more than 100 sites and updates automatically plus you get the next version (4) for free.  It spiders your site to submit every single page.  It saves your login details so you only have to register once and not have to worry about saving all the login details all over the place.  The best part is the normal price is $77 so you better buy it before this coupon no longer works.

Part 3 coming tomorrow.

Sounds like a powerful statement.  Not really.  I can beat that guarantee by a mile with my newer techniques (and even with what I’m about to share).  Either way I found an ebook I wrote (and never distributed to the public), that I wrote over a year and a half ago.  The information still works which of course is great and the reason I’ll just post the whole thing here.  The other bonus is this blog is updated daily so you’ll get everything consecutively unless a business or SEO emergency arises (which probably won’t) and of course my posts are at this point written and queued up a couple of weeks in advance.

Remember this is a copy and paste job from something written a while ago.  There are affiliate links I created a long time ago (and I won’t even cloak them this time) but to be honest with you, I’m not even sure if the links are still any good.

Anyway let’s get this started:

Get
into Google in under a week.  Guaranteed!!!

And
the bonus: Start getting traffic to your site.  Also Guaranteed!!!

The mystery of our times is how to get into
the search engines.  I created this guide so that you can get into the search
engines quickly and start getting traffic to your site almost immediately.

This is a straight-shooting guide that will
only give you techniques you can use.  None of these techniques are time wasters
and are all proven ways of making money and getting indexed by the search
engines.

The best part of this is everything you can
use to do this is free.  You can pay for products and speed up the process but
it’s not necessary.  I will recommend some products you can use to make things
faster but it’s completely up to you if you want to buy them.

Getting into the Search Engines

Blogging and Pinging

There are countless ebooks on blogging and
pinging.  I’m not going to get into a 200 page report on blogging and pinging
the only thing I will tell you are things that will get you into the search
engines quickly without wasting your time.

Blogging and pinging is very powerful.  The
search engines love constantly updated content and blogs are seen as a great
source of fresh content.  Without having your own blog you can now harness the
power of other people’s blogs.  A lot of blogs by default have something called
the “no follow” attribute.  What this means is google doesn’t follow the links
in “no follow” blogs but MSN and Yahoo as well as several other search engines
“do follow” these links so you can still get backlinks from these blogs.  Of
course we want to get in all the search engines including google.  We have to
find a way of getting into “do follow” blogs so we can get some of their
“linking” power and get us indexed.

Comment Kahuna
is completely free and very easy to use.  Just type in your
keywords and this will search for blogs without the “no follow” tag.  There is
another program called

Comment Hut
which is even more powerful.  There is a

free version
available which is very limited and of course the

paid version
which has more features and doesn’t limit you to how many links
you can collect.

Ok now that we have our software.  First
things first let’s get some backlinks.  Put your keywords into any of these
programs let the program run and get you the links.  Once you have these links
go to the pages and place a comment of course conveniently including your link
where the space to add it is located.  In the field where it says name try to
make it similar to your site or product so you can get a completely relevant
link.  Make sure your comment is relevant to the original post because a lot of
blogs are moderated and your comment will never show up if it’s not relevant.

Once your comment is made public ping the
page your comment is on.  Just go to

Ping-O-Matic
fill in the details and where it says Blog Home Page paste a
link to the page where your comment is located, click Check Common, then Send
Pings.  This will get the page with your comments searched by the major blog
search sites and of course the search engines also look at these sites so it
will follow all the links to your site.

This is also a great way for getting quick
backlinks to your sites.  The more you do this the more backlinks you’ll get to
your site and this can and will help on your google page ranking.

Part 2 will be here tomorrow.

post The Great DoFollow/NoFollow Debate

January 7th, 2009

Filed under: Search Engines — David @ 1:12 am

First things first this blog is dofollow aka not nofollow, so all links will be followed by the search engines.

What is nofollow? nofollow is a little piece of code included on tons of sites and blogs that basically tells the search engines not to follow your link.  It looks something like this rel=”nofollow” .   It was created to cut back on spammed links.  Each search engine handles nofollow differently, the main thing is google doesn’t index nofollow links.  The funny thing is most of the search engines do follow these links and see what’s on the other end, but they don’t let the “link juice” pass (some of the search engines.

Do nofollow backlinks have any value?  Yes.  Every search engine handles things differently but Yahoo (which is one of the big three search engines) does give some juice to nofollow backlinks.  If you can rank highly in any of the top 3 search engines for decent keywords you can expect a decent flow of traffic from them.  Of course Google is the big dog (and gets the biggest traffic) but it’s not the only player in the game.

When I submit sites I do try to get as much on “dofollow” sites as possible, but when I’m out for quantity links I hit everything from “nofollow” to “dofollow” to whatever else could be out there.  The “nofollow” links don’t hurt your rankings unless you’re blatantly spamming a million links all over the place.

If it looks like you’re link building is coming naturally you don’t have to fear search engine bannings, which is a big pain in the ass.
