On 9/28/12 google started cracking down on Exact Match Domains with low quality content. Exact match domains are domains that are all keywords. For example you do fence installation, you register fenceinstallation.com that is an exact match domain.
A lot of people are reporting that their sites have gone down drastically in the rankings. I can’t say I share that experience. My sites have actually improved. The key is to make sure you have good quality content. That means good articles that are human readable and of course because of the Panda/Penguin updates you have to be careful how you backlink your sites.
SEO is a changing game and google just changed the game up a little more. Exact match domains still do great even with trash content on Yahoo and Bing so if you do have EMDs you can still get traffic on them. My main suggestion is update your sites and add good content to them, then you can get back in google’s good grace and get your rankings back.
